Thanks to the Labyrinth Games & Puzzles team for allowing us to lead off one of their monthly Wargame Wednesday events! We go there almost every Thursday for their weekly board-game nights, so the event on 1 Oct 25 felt like playing a home game going in and presenting IADS: The Game.
That’s exactly how they do it too -- we got some details right as we were walking in, but the structure of their Wargame Wednesday is that someone comes in, gives a presentation on a game of their choice, then attendees are free to play that game or another of their choosing.
Cool to see some familiar faces like Wes of Wharf Rat Games, and awesome to meet with a big group of like-minded players. Some great recommendations from new players -- thanks Chris, for recommending the Midshipman Store at the U.S. Naval Academy; really hoping to get in there soon! It gave us the idea to reach out to the Cadet Store and/or US Air Force Academy Gift Shop, too -- though it sounds like we might not hear back from them until after the shutdown.
Maybe most amazing -- meeting some players who’d played before! Mike and his daughter Cam waltzed in with their own copy (current as of Sep ‘24, I think?). Mike shared that he’d gifted a copy to his old squadron, and he and his daughter (currently in the USAF -- let’s go!) got some great games in following our Q&A session. Really hope they got in some good VULs later on, too!

We’re in contact with the buyer for Labyrinth and are hopeful they decide to stock us soon!
Up next on the horizon, we'll be posting out about some of our latest games at the Georgetown University Wargaming Society, and providing some updates on our first commercial print of the Advanced Capabilities. Let's finally have some matching card backs!
